Half-price train tickets for flood hit North Cotswolds customers

Train operator First Great Western is helping customers in the North Cotswolds to celebrate the re-opening of the main railway line between Oxford and Worcester/Hereford by slashing prices on cheap day return tickets.

Customers travelling from stations on the Hereford/Worcester to Oxford route will benefit from half-price cheap day returns from Monday 13 August until Sunday 19 August.

Tom Stables, Commercial Director at First Great Western, says: "This is our way of saying thank you to customers who have been so patient while the line has been closed to allow for track repairs following the severe flooding in the area last month."

The half-price offer will be valid for travel from stations on the Oxford to Worcester/Hereford route as far as London Paddington, Gatwick Airport, Basingstoke, Newbury, and Bedwyn.

Examples of the half price fares include:

· Oxford to London £8.75 (down from £17.50)
· Worcester to London £15.45 (down from £30.90)
· Evesham to London £14.80 (down from £29.60)
· Charlbury to London £10.35 (down from £20.70)

This special offer can be used from the following stations: Oxford, Hanborough, Combe, Finstock, Charlbury, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Shipton, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link, Great Malvern, Colwall, Ledbury, and Hereford.
