Wherever, and whenever, you want to travel with us, we want to offer you a ticket that’ll give you the best possible value for money...

You can book your tickets on all First Great Western Monday to Friday services until Wednesday 28 April 2010, Saturday services until 24 April and 25 April for Sunday services.
(Please note: West of England services on Sunday 18 April are still awaiting correct timings to be uploaded. We have been advised by Network Rail that this upload will take place in time to open these services by Monday 15 February.)

Click on Buy Tickets or use the Train Times & Tickets section (on the right hand side of this page) and check times and select tickets.

Please allow enough time to catch your train. Prevent accidents, don't rush.

London Zonal Fares
For those of you travelling in and around London, there is now a more simple fares structure on the overground rail network. The new system came into effect on 2 January 2007 and is based on the same zones used for Underground and Travelcard tickets. It is designed to make travelling across the city a seamless experience. The new system is made up of Anytime Day Single / Return and Off-Peak Day Return tickets for each zone.

Buy before you board
You must always have a valid ticket to travel on First Great Western trains, if you do not, you risk prosecution. If you board our trains without a ticket, at a station where there are ticket buying services, you may be charged the full Anytime Single or Return fare,  be reported for prosecution, or receive a penalty fare (if travelling from a station within the penalty fares zone). Understandably, you won’t be eligible for any Railcard or other discounts. When a ticket office is closed, you should use a self-service ticket machine, a Permit to Travel machine, or buy your ticket on the train. If you travel every day, we recommend that you buy a season ticket.

Download our 'Buy before you board' leaflet.

Information about seat reservationsCustomers who wish to make seat reservations on a First Great Western service at a time other than when they buy their train tickets will be charged a £5 supplement per reservation. This charge does not apply to customers making reservations through the Special Assistance service. These sections may contain files which require Adobe Reader. Alternatively you can contact us to send you printed versions.
