Lost Property

Lost property

It's annoying when you lose something, but don't worry, we'll do all we can to try and help reunite you with any lost items.

If you think you've left an item of property on a First Great Western train, or at one of our stations:

Please call the Lost Property Helpline on 08457 000 125.

Please give as many details as possible about the item and the train service or location that it was left on.

The Helpline (08457 000 125) is open for enquiries from:
Mon to Fri: 0800 to 2000
Sat & Sun: 0900  to 1700

All items of lost property are kept at our Lost Property office in Bristol Temple Meads. Customers should allow up to 5 working days from the day they are lost for the property to be received at this office and logged.

Items are stored for up to 12 weeks, after which they are sent to auction. Release fees and holding fees will apply, and these vary depending on the item, see applicable fees.

Our Lost Property Helpline (08457 000 125) keeps an inventory of all lost property items and will contact our offices to query further details about a specific item. The more information you can give about an item, and when and where it was lost, the easier it will be to trace.

If an item is confirmed to be yours, you will need to arrange collection from our Bristol Temple Meads Lost Propery Office in one of the following ways:

1. Arrange for the item to be collected by courier.

2. In person.

3. Arrange for a friend to collect the item on your behalf.

4. Small items that can fit through a normal letter box can be posted if a self addressed, postage paid, padded envelope is provided.

Please note: items CANNOT be sent by train and the opening hours of the office are:

Bristol Temple Meads Lost Property Office opening hours:
Mon to Fri: 0800 to 1745
Sat: 0900 to 1500
Sun: 1000 to 1745
