Bedwyn Station celebrates 150 years
Tuesday 13 November
Bedwyn station celebrated its 150th birthday last Sunday and is a lifeline for the local community.
In recognition of the valuable service, Bedwyn Trains Passenger Group presented the driver of the day’s first service, First Great Western’s Chris Boyce, with a commemorative mug.
The mugs have been printed with a copy of Bedwyn’s 1862 timetable and profits from the sale of the mugs will be donated to The Bruce Trust - a local charity providing canal boat holidays for disabled, disadvantaged and elderly people. The boats are moored in Bedwyn.
First Great Western has pledged £150 for the trust and donated two first class tickets for the charity to raffle as a prize.
